Military Medical Career: Army Veterinary Medicine
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Command the Veterinary Corps units during medical situations.
- Treat government-owned animals and pets of service members.
- Medical research on diseases of military importance.
- Instruct veterinary skills at service schools and train other personnel.
- Serve unique duty positions for veterinary command activities.
Salary:
They make $2,000 to $5,000 annually through the Diplomate Board Certified Pay (DBCP).
Education:
They need a Doctorate from an American Veterinary Medical Association – accredited veterinary school in the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or Canada (foreign graduates may apply if they possess a permanent certificate from the Education Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates).
Demand for this Profession:
There is a high demand for this particular career because they need veterinarians to help take care of the army dogs or any other animals they need that may help them.
Reflection:
I would like to work as a Field Veterinarian because I love animals and it’d be cool to help an animal they need in the military.
